APPEALS COURT AFFIRMS BASHIR SHERIFF AS AUTHENTIC CANDIDATE FOR APC YOBE NORTH SENATORIAL ZONE

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Ahmed Lawan has finally lost the battle for the Senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for Yobe North.

An appeals court today ruled that Bashir Sheriff is the authentic candidate of the APC for Yobe North Senatorial Zone.

Recall that Lawan initially contested and lost the presidential primaries of the APC.

By Nigerian law, you can only contest for one office at the same time. Lawan never contested for the APC Senatorial primaries for Yobe North, but still insisted on getting the ticket after losing the presidential primaries.
