https://www.multiturn.co.uk/ The UK’s no.1 for Timber Stairs.
When you hear the words ‘bespoke staircase’, you probably picture a thing of beauty; something totally unique to its application. Unusual handrails, a mixture of timbers, glass…
But the truth is: every staircase is bespoke. Even if it’s quite conventional in aesthetic and part of a 50-plot development.
Why?
Because each house comes with its own bespoke measurements. You can’t just manufacture one set of staircases and replicate it across multiple sites. They wouldn’t fit properly.
So, before we head into our 3 considerations, it’s important to note that every staircase, be it weird, wacky, or conventional, is bespoke.
Let’s take a look at some things you ought to consider with your bespoke staircase…
#1 Bespoke Stairs Specification?
Let’s say your client does want something that’s totally unique. You have, firstly, got to find a manufacturer that can allow for this. Many UK staircase manufacturers have a set range of designs and won’t deviate from these specifications. Job done; you know what you’re getting.
But if your client wants to mix and match timbers, softwoods and styles throughout an entire range of staircase components, then this is an entirely different offering.
If this is what you’re after, then the team here at Multi-Turn can make it happen.
Normally, this involves us meeting over a Zoom call (with builder, client, architect or whoever is involved) where we can discuss, in-depth, your unique requirements. Taking this on board, we’ll draw up a 3D representation of what you’re trying to achieve.
#2 Early Involvement is Important if You Have a Bespoke Staircase Specification
If you show us an image of what you want to achieve after the house has been built, it may not be possible to accommodate your requirements. Certain styles will only work with certain house layouts/designs.
That’s why it’s crucial you involve us as early on in the process as possible – if you want a bespoke staircase spec.
#3 Every Staircase is Bespoke
To reiterate the point made in the introduction: every staircase is bespoke because every house is built to slightly different measurements – even those multiple-plot sites.
And that’s why we place such a huge emphasis on our ‘free site survey’ offering – as part of our ‘fit first time’ guarantee.
The free site survey involves us visiting your site and taking accurate measurements before drawings are submitted to our design team. Whilst this is normally the site agent’s responsibility, we understand how busy they can be.
Measuring for staircases is just one of many responsibilities they have. Removing this stress means that when the staircases are sent to manufacture, you can guarantee they fit first time. To find out more about our free site survey offering, and how it can save you up to £300 per staircase, read our blog post here.
To summarise, being unique and being bespoke are two different things. Often, people confuse the two, when, in reality, every staircase is bespoke.
If you do require a completely unique design, our expert team are on hand to provide the guidance, support and skills to realise your visions.
Yet, if you’re working on a more conventional project, you can be sure that our team will take accurate measurements to guarantee they fit first time, without compromise.
