This article isn’t about warning you not to the beautiful food and drinks that we all associate the holiday season with since you’re likely to enjoy it regardless. You may be wrong if you think we’re not fans of some pies and pints at Christmas.But it doesn’t need to derail all the efforts you’ve put into over the first eleven months of this year.Remember these guidelines throughout the holiday season to ensure you are in a state of damage limitation.
1-KEEP ACTIVITY LEVELS UP
Go to training at least once every week to keep up your endurance. Engage in as much physical activity as possible, take walks or park as far as you can from the mall, or download our training application for training with bodyweights or travel. The most important thing to remember in this period is to prevent a slide back in strength, nutrition, and energy system.
2- PLAN AHEAD
If you know you’ll be out for a drink and meal, cut back on the calories you consume earlier in the day to compensate for them. Skip breakfast and eat some salad with lunch to limit your calories. We do not recommend thoroughly skipping meals before events such as this; however, getting to the event hungry is often a problem that worsens.
3- EAT YOUR GREENS
Christmas is a time for excessive indulgence. Why not apply that to your vegetables too? It will help if you consume plenty of vegetables and other foods high in fiber to help ease the extra load your digestion will likely face during the season.
4- DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
When you’re drinking a lot of alcohol, your body will require more H20. Water can also aid in feeling full and help fight hangovers and dehydration. One alcoholic drink for one bottle of water.
5-MEATS, NUTS, VEGGIES, AND CHEESE
If you’re at the buffet table during the event, eat lean meats, nutritious fats, vegetables, and some cheeses. You’ll need to choose your favorite, and these meals can help you feel fuller and will be difficult to consume too much of. Avoid crackers, cakes, dips, slices of bread, and cookies. You can overeat these food items because they do not aid in satiation and are easy to consume in small amounts at once.
6- ENJOY IT!
The holiday season is a chance to have a meal and drink with family members and friends. So maintain an enlightened relationship with food and not be stressed about it. Be sure to follow the basics and ensure that you don’t let a few hours of joy take away the good things that have been accomplished in the past 11 months.
